Annual Election

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Centerville Fire District will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Fire House, 2885 Route 32, Saugerties, NY for the purposes of electing one commissioner for a five-year term commencing on January 1, 2025 and ending on December 31, 2029.   Only those persons who are residents of the Centerville Fire District on or before November 12, 2024 and who are registered to vote with the Ulster County Board of Elections on or before November 18, 2024 shall be eligible to vote in this election.
    
    NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that there will be two propositions on the ballot.
Proposition 1. To approve a resolution passed by the Board of Fire Commissioners on October 28, 2024 to secure a bond for no more than $950,000.00 and expend $1.350,000.00 from the Vehicle Reserve Account for the purchase of a new Quint aerial apparatus.

Proposition 2. To approve a resolution to increase, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO DISTRICT TAXPAYERS, the maximum number of years earned under the Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) from 25 to 30 years.

Budget Hearing

   Notice is hereby given that the proposed budget of the Centerville Fire District, Town of Saugerties, State of New York, for the year 2025 will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners for its consideration.
  A public hearing will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the Centerville Fire House located at 859 Route 212, Saugerties, NY.  The purpose of the budget hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or in favor of or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.

On July 2 at 03:41 Company 19 was requested with manpower into the Phoenicia fire district with manpower to the scene of a 2nd alarm structure fire. Car 1, 2, 4, and Rescue 1 operated on scene for approximately an hour assisting with overhaul. Units were released and placed back in service at 05:40.

At 12:53 Company 19 was dispatched for a reported camper fire on the off-ramp of the NYS Thruway northbound. Upon arrival command advised of camper trailer with a working fire. Units arrived on scene and stretched 2 hand lines knocking a majority of the fire. Units operated on scene for approximately an hour conducting overhaul and extinguishing any remaining hot spots. Units on scene: Cars 1 and 2, Engine 1, Tankers 1 and 2, and Rescue 1.

On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at approximately 11:20 hrs. Company 19 was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire involving a camper with a vehicle in tow on the New York State Thruway in the area of the southbound interchange.  Car 2 arrived to find a fully involved vehicle detached from the camper. Command advised all responding units to access via the northbound entrance. Car 1 assumed command on arrival. Crews from Engine 1 and Tanker 2 stretched a handline on arrival and knocked down the fire. Tanker 1 and Truck 1 were utilized for traffic and as a safety barrier for operating crews. All units were placed back in service at approximately 12:02.

​Notice is hereby given that the Organizational Meeting of the Centerville Fire District, Town of Saugerties, County of Ulster, New York, will be held on Wednesday,  January 3 2024, 7pm, at the Cedar Grove Fire House located at 2885 Route 32, Saugerties, NY.  Also take note that the regular monthly meetings of the Centerville Fire District will be held on the third Monday of each month at the Centerville Fire House at 7pm.

​On Friday, September 29th, at 09:48, Company 19 was dispatched for a reported structure fire in the area of Quarry Road. Upon arrival command advised of a 1 story vacant structure fully involved. First arriving units stretched multiple hand lines and knocked down a bulk of the fire. A machine from Town of Saugerties Highway was brought in to assist with the extensive overhaul. Additional tankers were called from Malden West Camp and Saxton Fire Districts. Standby coverage was provided from Saugerties Fire and Ulster Hose Co 5. Units operated on scene for approximately 3 hours before being placed back in service around 12:30hrs. Also on scene Glasco Fast Team, Diaz Ambulance, Town of Saugerties Pd, Town of Saugerties Building Department, State Police, and the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit
